Trip to the Dominican Republic... I warn you LOTS of pictures!

Just after we landed in Santo Domingo.
We stayed at the temple housing.
This is our little van/bus we traveled in for three hours.
When we stopped on our way to Higuey a little boy came up to us and asked us for food. As soon as he did this guy started running after him trying to use this taser on him because he said he was a thief.
We went to church on Sunday, didn't understand all of it, but I got the gist of it.
This was supposed to be the ghetto and they loved having their pictures taken.
The boss and I in front of one of the churches we worked in.
Emily (our hygienist) and I just after we set up for the first day.
Our motel. The Don Carols.
Can you say abcess?
He was nervous and had drawn a picture of a dog to comfort him.
Bending over like that hurt after a while.
Precious!
There were probably about 40 people that lived here I think.
Inside the church after all the action started.
This little boy had an infection coming out of his nose.
Even after we pulled our tooth she said we could still be friends.
Yep lawn chairs.
It POURED rain, this little boy was trying to stay dry.
He is chewing on sugar cane. It's pretty much wood that tastes like sugar and that's why all their teeth are rotted out.

We gave them the rest of our lunch, he wouldn't stop eating long enough for a picture.

I wanted to bring her home with me!
My first extraction.
This itsy bitsy spider sat down beside me.

This was after work one day they just kept asking us to take their pictures.

This was the toilet, anytime anything went in, a ton of mosquitoes came up... yes my bum did get bitten.
In front of the church.
Sadly this is how many were left over at the end.
Coconut... not that tasty.
These boys would wash our shoes for pesos.
This kid didn't have any shoes, but now he does.
He was pretty proud of this.
EVERYONE drives motorcycles there. The seats are extra long too so they would fit sometimes four people on one, kids and all.
Pretty paintings on the side of the road.
Mmmmm dinner.
We went to the baseball game after the last night.
First and oldest church in the Americas. Built in 15 something.
This is Chris Cross and I, A.K.A. Christopher Columbus, he founded this place.
Right before church. We were able to do baptisms and a session! Pretty neat!

In front of the temple right before we left. I'm not sure if you can handle any more pictures but if you can, we had a professional photographer come with us and her pictures are AMAZING. Here in the link for some of the pictures. http://janae-lastingmemoriesphotography.blogspot.com/2009/11/so-much-to-be-thankful-for.html

Happy Birthday To All And To All A Goodnight!

Ok, so... I hope everyone realizes how hard it is for me to keep up with 17 nieces and nephews birthdays. Not to mention siblings, siblings spouses, mom and dad. I understand that most of you have more than that with your spouses nieces and nephews and in-laws and still manage to get it all taken care of, but I'm not at your level of expertise. So, for past and perhaps advance I want to wish everyone a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! So hard to keep up! It's not that I don't love you. I'm just not that talented!
